Many people are surprised to learn that a number of companies offer tank driving experiences for under a hundred pounds. Though such experiences on average only lead to about thirty minutes driving time, they can still be highly enjoyable and a very worthwhile gift.
Full Monty Packages
Many companies offer day long tank driving experiences which are generally labelled "Full Monty" packages. Though it of course varies depending upon the company that you choose, generally these packages will provide the opportunity to drive around four different military vehicles, there is even one that includes a bit of quad biking. As well as military driving, there are often a number of presentations on the state of modern warfare worldwide and some include military training scenarios. Though Full Monty packages generally cost around two hundred and fifty pounds, the amount of time spent at the track generally makes them the best value option.
Car Crushing
Car crushing is in most people's eyes the most enjoyable thing that you can do with a tank. A number of companies offer the opportunity to do so and it is not as expensive as you would imagine.
- On average you can drive a tank over a saloon car for four hundred pounds in the UK. Many companies also allow you to take family members or friends to ride as passengers while you do it. For an additional thrill, some companies even allow you to bring your own car to crush. This sadly does not reduce the price however.
- On the other hand should you fancy yourself as being highly skilled when it comes to military operations, you may be better off purchasing a Full Monty Package that include car crushing. Such packages frequently end with the winner of the group getting the opportunity to crush a car. As mentioned above, this is cheaper than purchasing a car crushing experience but only really works out if you are good enough to win on the day.
Paintball
One of the strangest tank driving experiences in the UK regards little balls of paint. Yes, it is indeed possible to combine tank driving with paintball, making what could only be described as the best possible stag activity. Though not quite as common as the other tank driving experiences in the UK, there are a number of companies that offer it. The tanks have been modified to fire paintballs instead of missiles and the result is about as close as you can get to modern warfare without risking death in the process.
